  1. Rake up any winter debris on your lawns and beds 
  2. Prepare your lawn ready to apply a balanced lawn fertilser when rain fall is due
  3. Find the edges of your lawn and trim to tidy as this will prevent grass growing into the borders
  4. Prune your shrub roses now
  5. Tidy alpines and pots ready for new season
  6. Prune your buddleja
  7. Reduce colourful dogwood stems down to a woody stump which you have enjoyed over winter
  8. Prune summer flowering clematis, tracing down the brown stems and cutting above emerging buds just above soil level
  9. Trim winter flowering heathers with shears to remove faded flowers.Avoid cutting into the wood. This also applies to lavender
  10. Final fruit pruning!
  11. Planting bare root trees and hedges
  12. Plant early potatoes
